If someone acts in a way I dont agree with, what should I do?

i believe they should apologise but they dont think so because they think they will be ridiculed for it. its not my place to interfere but dont feel comfortable with it.

I think deciding how to address situations like that is predicated on what the consequences of calling them out for their behavior are. For example, if you see someone being a jerk at a family gathering, and you know if you bring it up, you'll spark a huge fight, then you'll probably decide to wait until later, etc.

Context would matter. If I go to a restaurant and we disagree about what the best thing on the menu is we would have a laugh about it and probably a playful debate on why the other person is wrong. If someone does me wrong and doesn't think they did I would cut them out if they refuse to communicate about it.
