Nah. If I’m not out the house, I’m in my room. I used to chill downstairs after school, but my roommate’s messy-ness has amplified and is making it unpleasant downstairs regardless of all the talks. She’ll clean her mess in front of me, but clearly doesn’t when I’m not around. We had fruit flies after her leaving out her food, putting it in the garbage, and leaving her soda cans everywhere (I educated her on that)... then she made it worse by pouring apple cider vinegar everywhere when I was out (she thought it killed fruit flies 🥴). I spent $$ on fruit fly traps and shit. Whenever she leaves the house is clean, and when she comes back it gets all gross.
With my old roommate we were messy, not dirty. We always hung in the common area together and never had bugs.
Thankfully I’ll be getting a different roommate soon. Hopefully they have more common sense.

If you have the opportunity to choose your roommates, definitely do it. I’m new to this state and all of my good friends are elsewhere.

I don't live with roommates, thank goodness but if I did, then I would not let myself be impressed by my roommates. I mean, how can you live a normal life if you hide from your mates?

Do you cook solely for yourself during the times where they are not in the house or apartment? How can you spend all the time in the common place without meeting them in a way or another?

If you have social anxieties, then having roommates are not something for you. I can understand that you are anxious and cautious if the other roommates are males. They can be unpredictable and often don't respect the privacy of the female roommates.

I would never have roommates of the opposite gender because of the potential problems that causes.
