I've lived here since 1999, and have only talked to This guy a handful of times, but yesterday evening When I was leaving for work, I noticed that he was burning some brush. That was a little after 5 pm. So I woke up this morning at about 9am, and drove buy his house, and there was a little bit of smoke coming off of the ashy pile. I guess he could have put it out last night, and burned a little bit this morning, but im pretty sure he left it burning overnight. I mean, he's gotten on my ass for something before. Like my dog got loose and walked near his house and he was worried about my dog killing his chickens, so I feel like if I got on his ass about leaving fires burning over night, then we'd be even. I was going to iether call him (I don't have his number, but my mom does) or just bring it up when I see him again. Also, in kind of afraid that if I talk to him, and he decides to do it again, I'll have to report him, and he'd probably know it was me.

Once you start a burn pile, you have to let it burn down. He probably had a burn permit. He was probably keeping an eye on it, too.
I've had to burn piles of brush several times over the years during the winter when the fire hazard is low.
What's the problem? It sounds like you are just looking for trouble.
If anything, call the police or fire department to come by and check it out while the fire is burning.
I say rather just report him so that he doesn't know it's you neither can he do it again and things go smoothly
You never know when you'll be needing some help from him so it's better to not have a beef with neighbours
So he has a gate around his property that requires pass code. How would the authorities deal with that?
