She smacked my 5 y. o nephew like as strong as when you hit a ball with baseball bat thats how I decribe it. I said its torture she said I shouldn't meddle with how she discipline the kid. by the way my nephews mom is my sister and long dead and our aunt just happen to adopt and take care of my nephew. She said she doesn't want him to grow up like me because I dont respect people or elders even her. Yeah its true she adopted me also because my mom didn't care about me but I also was constantly physically abused and emotionally abused that caused me to rebel and I dont respect her because of how she treated me. If I make small mistakes shed call me stupid in front of other people if I make a mistakes shed beat me like one time when I was a kid I didn't go to church with her and I said id go with her the night before and then in the morning I said I dont want to go shed beat me and called me daughter of satan. Or snake like a snake in a bible Im not kidding. Yeah she adopted me clothes me feed me but I experience all that and now my nephew experiences the same. Thoughts?

Wow, that's really messed up what she did to your nephew. Hitting a kid that hard could really hurt them, even for just spilling something by accident. She can't be using violence like that just for discipline. And it's not fair for her to treat your nephew the same way she treated you when you were a kid. That's not okay.

No kid deserves to get beat up or called mean names like that. You're right that it's not your fault for how she treated you in the past. She sounds really abusive and controlling. I wouldn't want my nephew to have to deal with that either. Maybe you should talk to your sister or other family about what happened, so they can make sure your nephew is safe and not getting hit all the time. No one should have to go through that.

That's a very stressful story. Obviously, your aunt has opinions on discipline that are not shared by you or others. I'm sure it's a stressful existence for you, as well as your nephew, but also her. If you haven't tried, I would suggest approaching or deals like this in a calm manner as long as nobody needs medical care. Think long and hard about what you want to say and how you want to present your own ideas about discipline.

Regardless if the child needs medical attention or not. No one should be hitting anyone in the head. That is abuse

One of my biggest regrets is not reporting my sister to cps. She would hit her kids multiple times over the head, now those poor kids have issues.

Hitting anyone over the head is a form of abuse and should be reported to the police and even cps.

I could understand maybe a swat on the butt for doing that, but the head? That's way too rough, especially on a small kid. She could hurt them very badly by doing that.

Need to report you own abuse and what you witnessed to the CPS, your aunt won't be allowed in the same room as kids again
