Why do some people not add me back on snapchat?

I’m new to my school, and I would say I have a sizable portion of my grade added on Snapchat (around 50 out of around 150 students). Whenever I look at people’s stories and they mention/tag someone from our grade (because it’s their birthday or some other reason), and most of the time it’s someone I know, I add them, because why not. I’ve recently noticed though that a lot of these people never add me back. If it’s someone I don’t know or don’t really talk to, I understand, but a lot of the time it’s people who I literally have classes with, people I know know me too. I’ve never really thought about it that much until now, but it’s starting to annoy me. Can someone tell me what might be the case?

Ah man, starting at a new school can be tough. As for folks not adding you back on Snap, there could be a few reasons:

- They just haven't noticed you added them yet. Snap chaos can be a lot sometimes.

- They may have private accounts and only add people they're super close with. Don't take it personally.

- Some people just aren't big on social media or adding lots of people they only kinda know.

- Possibly they think you're cooler than them and are intimidated? Haha.

The best thing to do is keep putting yourself out there. Chat with those people in class, maybe mention you're new so they know you better. Over time you'll make more friends who will wanna stay connected on Snap. Don't let it get you down - just keep being yourself and people will see what a cool girl you are. And if some still don't add you? Eh, forget about em! Your real friends will come through.
