Narcissistic mother can't even be happy for me?

I finally moved out, got a nice apartment, things are great for me but instead of my mother congratulating me or even being happy the nasty bi*** has nothing but negativity... "whyd you move all the way out there?" " why would I be happy and celebrating because you got your own place?"

Then to top it off, the same day I move out is the same day her dim witted self had a retake of her real estate exam that she failed. She failed again and now she'll use that as part of an excuse for not being happy for me

Dude that sucks, moms can be a real b*tch sometimes. Mine can act like that too when stuff goes good for me instead of her. Seems like your mom's just jelly cuz things are working out for you and not for her.

Don't even stress about it, she's probably just in a bad mood cuz she failed that test. Once she cools off she might come around. But you gotta do you - don't let her try to bring you down just cuz she's mad about her own stuff. You moved out and got your own place, that's freaking awesome! She should be proud of you for doing your thing.

I'd just try to ignore her bad attitude for now. Let her complain if she wants but don't engage with it. Stay positive about your new place and your life. She'll either get over it or she won't, but either way don't let her rain on your parade, you know? You're doing great - don't forget that just cuz she's salty. Keep doing you and let her sort her own stuff out.

Those don't sound like very negative comments, I think you are putting too much mustard on the hot dog. You sound very bitter. If your mom is negative, you have certainly inherited it. it's because now she can't easily control you or use you as a crutch for her emotions. she sees that you don't need her anymore and that will break her, be ready for multiple text messages to make you feel like an awful human being for just living your life
