I think the biggest reason adults become depressed is that they are not willing to pursue delayed gratification and want short term benefits. There are many pleasures an adult has that exceeds the pleasures of being a child, not sex but other things like philanthropy or faith or altruism or achievement or learning or inspiration, or public service, or animals or nature but the adults do not always know about it, cause they don't invest in their future and without planning and long term thinking, your life will not bring you the happiness you want it to.
