Do you think it's possible to have more than one best friend?

No, it is not possible to have 2 or more best friends that are on par with each other. Why?

Let's take a very hypothetical example.

You have 2 friends that you consider to be your 2 best friends. Both of them fall simultaneously in freezing water. They cannot swim and both are equidistant from you. You only have one rope and this rope can only hold one person that you can pull out. You know that the rope will be to shreds after you pull the first of those best friends out. There is no branch or anything strong enough in the vicinity that you can use to pull out the second best friends. You cannot swim.

Now the question. Which of the 2 best friends do you choose to save and which one is actually not so much the best friend and that you will let drown?

The one you choose is your best friend, the other one not. As simple as that.

I have three best friends. One is my boyfriend and the other two have been my closest friends since I was 18. We are literally a trio and we were inseparable for 5yrs when we all lived near each other and when the one moved away we still continue to talk at least once a week, sometimes more. I have had other close friendships with people that I value but not on their level. I know that they will all always be there for me and I will always be there for them.

Yea it is possible, most aren’t that lucky (from my experience,) but it is possible. I have one best friend who I tell everything, a few others are almost as close but not quite.

Yes you can. Most people don't know they have more than one best friend. Your best friends are the group you count on to be there when you think everything has fallen apart. They are there to help you be strong.

I believe it's possible to have more than one close friend and maybe more than one best friend. I usually only ever had one best friend at a time because I did not make an effort to meet and connect with others in my youth.
