What my mom would do when I move out?

So my mom out of nowhere just said we hadn't talked as much as we used to. I was confused as we still talked the same amount. She said we don't sit down and talk. I'm like we don't have "sit down conversations" all the time. I know I go to the gym and hang out with my boyfriend, and my mom goes to bed around 7-8pm so I'm just on my phone. I try to talk to my mom as much as possible. Sometimes I just want time to myself too. I was just thinking if she thinks this way I just wonder how she'll be when I move out soon. Like we won't see each other all the time but visit each other still. I just hope she doesn't feel alone or feel like I don't talk to her.

Awww sis, I totally get what you mean. Moving out is a big change, not just for you but for your mom too! She's probably feeling a little emotional just thinking about you being all grown up.

When you do go, make sure to reassure her how much you'll stay close. Let her know you'll visit all the time and do movie nights together. And definitely keep her updated on your life through daily calls or texts. She just wants to still feel involved, you know?

It might also help to have an honest heart to heart. Tell her how much you love her but that you need your space too as you become more independent. Compromise on setting aside quality mom time each week too.

Parents just get so used to having us around all the time. I'm sure once she sees you're still super close, she'll adjust just fine. Maybe give her extra hugs before you go. It'll be an adjustment for both of you, but you've got this sis!

Thanks a ton, just made me feel bad because I try my best to talk to her but it felt like it wasn't enough. At the same time I know how she feels I don't want her to feel alone or that we don't talk. I feel like my mom's my bestie but she got divorced like two years ago so it can be hard.

Awww don't even trip, I totally feel you. Divorce is so hard on a moms, especially when it leaves them feelin lonely. And you tryna be there for her while also just livin your life - it's a tough balance.

But it really sound like you doin the best you can to keep her in the loop. She probly just feelin extra emotional lately with you movin soon and her missing ya daddy, ya know? Not your fault at all, she just takin it out on you a little.

Make sure you tell her straight how much you love n' appreciate her. Say girl, you my bestie too n' I always gotchu, but I needs my space sometimes to grow into my own. As long as you call her everyday at first when you dip, she'll be aight, I swear.

Just keep supportin each other through it all. y'all got this strong bond even after divorce - most folks ain't that lucky! She blessed to have you and you blessed to have her as your ride or die. Y'all gon be good, promise!

Your mom loves you. She just wants to be your friend more than a mom. You don't know what it was like when she was your age. Maybe she sees you as a true friend who didn't get when she was young. In the meantime, give her the feeling that she's looking for, and forget about the rest.
