How to stop being too available?

I feel like people become a little too comfortable with me and then they start to think they can treat me poorly. This one friend was expecting me to text her back 24/7 and if I didn’t she would text me asking where I am. I felt like she would choose my time for me “I am going to call in 2 minutes” without asking if I’m busy or not. I also live with my partner I can’t just stop everything for her

either ignore her or say i'm busy and will get back to you later. just note that saying that will explode with more text messages and calls. but this is how you set boundaries. it's very hard to achieve with these kinds of people, but it needs to be done.

Yeah I had friends like that before and guilt trips me. It’s just communicating boundaries from a loving place and firmly.


Ex1: sorry, I’m busy with __, I’ll call you back after I’m done or after __time__.
Ex2: I really wanna be there for you, but right now is not a good time because family/event/etc. When is a good time to call you?
