Yes, but I would also recognize that whatever they see in me doesn’t fit into their lives and that’s their choice as much as I make my own life. I would ask questions, probably not get any kind answers, and in the end would just leave them be if they didn’t want me around anymore.

a reflective family member would be hurt by it, non reflective wouldn't, they probably would be dismissive of it.

Depends on what’s happened. Personally, if my dads side had done that, I’d just laugh because they’re all horrible anyway.
