Absolutely not (maybe acquaintances). Men and women can't be casual friends. If a woman considers you a "friend" she's either an idiot, or a whore. Unless there's no physical attraction between the two. 9 times out of 10, if a male considers a female "just a friend" he's full of shit.
I think usually a guy having more female friends than male is expectable. It doesn't seem to vary that much either with sexuality as far as I can observe.
I would say that a guy who avoided a gender all together would be suspect though.
Nah but I do think it's really odd for someone not to have friends of both genders. If a man has no women friends but a ton of men friends it's a red flag and I wouldn't be able to date him cuz 1. He hates women. 2. He sees women as only sexual objects

Nothing wrong. In fact I find it odd if a dude has females as simply ''friends'', as naturally, males and females often have very little common, when it comes to interests.
Most of the time, when I see a male having a female ''friends'', it's because he either wants to sleep with her, and is only the phone and meeting up with her, pretending he actually cares about what she's saying, just to eventually sleep with her, or he's gay therefore has a lot in common with her.
