Why do friends and family get rude towards you once you start taking on more responsibilities and start steering your life in an ambitious direction?

Recently, I told a friend that I have been swamped with a lot of responsibilities from the beginning of this year when we connected. For which she said 'Imagine how busy I am. I work xy&z hour weeks, managing large projects with no one here. No one gets it!'

When my sister knows I'm planning on something to elevate my life, she does many things to sabotage things for me.

I have other examples too, but i'll stop here.

What on earth was rude about what your friend said? Was it wrong for her to take part in venting? Sounds like you’re being way too sensitive and misinterpreting her intention with that statement she made.

I understand what your saying and agree that friends are hear each other vent as well. Which we both do. I hear her say this many times and it doesn't bother me, I listen to her and support her through the tough cycles in her life. So its fine. This was the 1st time, I've been super busy as I'm working on a few projects and due to that I've not been able to connect. So when we did connect, i shared to her that I've been quiet due to a few things and mentioned them to her. Maybe I expected her to share some supportive words like I do to her, but she didn't mention anything about me, but only state her state of affairs as mentioned above, I suppose at that point as a friend I expected her to be encouraging or supportive, but when she said what she normally says, it just felt like she's not giving any regard to my situation.

I'm not hurt or bothered. I'm trying to understand people ad myself better when I asked my question.
