Personally I find it easier to relate to girls. However, I do get along fairly well with guys too.
I definitely tend to empathize more with women than with guys. One woman who used me exclusively for oral service, and who still uses me whenever she comes to visit someone told me that she felt very comfortable telling me about her intimate sexual encounters with the various guys she was dating, and one quote, in particular still echoes in my mind to this day -- 'I love telling you about it, 'cause it feels like I'm talking to one of my girlfriends'

Despite how society tends to look at things, I think it's always going to be easier for the opposite gender to be friends with each other more than same gender. Females generally prefer male friends and say they're better, and even some guys prefer female friends over male. I have a few very close male friends, but it is still oddly easier for me to make friendships with women.
I think opposite sex friendships are extremely important because it's one of the ways you can learn more about each other and your perspective from opposite sides. And yes, opposite sex friends becoming attracted to each other and having sex is beautiful to me.

Why is there an "Other" option? There are only two genders, male and female. That's it.

Actually there’s more than two because gender is constructed by society and some people identify more with neither pronouns or both rather then one or the other.
- +1 y
Actually, according to Yale Medicine and my sociology teacher who has a degree in sociology, gender is “referring to self-representation influenced by social, cultural, and personal experience.” I don’t know about you, but I’m going to trust Yale University of Medicine to make that call.
And to answer your question about ‘who cares?’ I do because I want everyone to feel seen and heard. There are so many kids out there who become severely depressed because they’re not accepted or respected for who they are. They world already actively works against anyone who’s not a white, straight, cisgender male so why make it worse? I know many non-binary people and transgender people who are deeply hurt by people who misgender them. It often hurts them even worse when it’s someone who they know knows they don’t go by those pronouns.
And I mean, clearly if the use of using pronouns other then she/her or he/him is upsetting you, you DO care at least a little. Even the Pope said “who am I to judge?” when it comes to people in the LGBTQ community. - +1 y
"... according to Yale Medicine and my sociology teacher who has a degree in sociology..."
The is the 'Argument from Authority' fallacy.
"Even the Pope said..." - Again, same thing.
What matters more than anything else is objective reality, the facts, what's actually true. Take, for instance, the claim that "gender is a spectrum". How can this possibly be true, when there are only two sexes (male and female), therefore two genders, and one is clearly distinct from the other? It takes two sexes for a species to reproduce, not three, or 27. A spectrum in this context wouldn't work, it would be counter-productive for the species. That's basic biology, something I knew when I was seven. I didn't need to go to Yale in order to figure out how that works. - +1 y
Maybe, but genders and sexes are two different things. Also, Yale is a very credible and reliable source so if you’re not convinced by that that there are more than two genders, well there’s no point in me trying to do that either. Being stuck in a way of thinking that even Yale disagrees with isn’t something I can change.

Well considering Yale is a revered university that is ranked 11 in the international universities rankings, I’d highly doubt that they, as you put it, “allowed their political views to infect their science.” That claim alone tells me that you take part in confirmation bias and therefore are an unreliable source for this topic.
- +1 y
No, that's not an example of "confirmation bias". I actually attended university, so I have at least some idea of what they're now like, and I have to say that at least half of the teachers at the university I attended shouldn't have been there, because they were not qualified to teach in their own specialised field. I was constantly correcting them in class, because they kept getting things wrong!

So just because you went to one university where the teachers got stuff wrong from time to time, all universities are not to be trusted? Even the one that Einstein himself taught at?
- +1 y
Except that Yale is one of the top universities in the world.
- +1 y
No, what I am saying is that they are one of the most trusted sources out there and for good reason.

I certainly would NOT let Yale University do my thinking for me. We have forgotten all about common sense. Yale University (and many others) have certainly not recently given reason for us to have a lot of confidence in them as moral paragons of truth and untruth, or right and wrong! There are not 575 different genders. If you have two X chromosomes in every gene in every cell, you are female. If you have an X and a Y chromosome in every gene in every cell, you are male! You can have all the cosmetic surgery (disfigurement) you want. You can have all the hormone injections you want. It does NOT change what you are inherently! It does NOT change your genetic heritage. I would ask any guy who "identifies" as a woman, can you conceive and give birth to a child? I rest my case. Sorry, but I really don't care if you are made "uncomfortable" by what I've just said. I don't really care if you get "offended" by every damned thing under the sun which differs from your own viewpoint. Reality is reality. Get used to it. Facts don't care about your feelings. Who is the Pope to judge? I'll tell you who he is. I am not Catholic, but the Pope is supposed to stand for something. There is a Book which he is supposed to represent. That Book contains certain standards of right and wrong behavior, which he is supposed to uphold. That's his job. THAT'S who he is to judge. This isn't a popularity contest.

However, I haven't had a friend in 6 years. Although I am on cordial terms with the friend of my girlfriend, Eva. Our bond is based on our connection and love for my girlfriend, though. And not our hobbies and stuff10 Reply
+1 yI definitely have more male friends but I have a few women in my life that I consider friends, not including my sisters in law. I get along very well with all of them, which is definitely a good thing!

+1 yI can get along with both girls and guys but if a girl is a snobby entitled, high maintenance drama queen then no thanks If a guy is a rude arrogance boastful prick then no thanks. For anyone that does not identify as male or female that is also a no thanks you're confused and I will not join you in your self-delusion
