So I have a friend that I met about a year ago at school we get along well but he recently told me that I’ve been a huge positive influence on his life do you think he may consider me a close friend or no?

Maybe. He at the very least thinks positively of you. Maybe ask if he wants to hang out sometime and see what he says. Could be a start to a good friendship anyway.

Ok thanks ’ve never been good at making friends so another question my other friend told me that when I’m not around he constantly talks about me all the time in a good way so you think that might be a sign he considers me a close friend?

Yeah I'd say it's safe to see he sees you in a positive light. A friend for sure though I think close friends take time to build.
