My grandma thinks grandpa is cheating, what can I do to make her realize it's false?

She isn't thinking clearly and isn't recognizing me anymore. She really thinks (even believes) grandpa is cheating on her with me. I stopped by for a visit to help out and she thinks I'm his mistress. She has called him a dirty, bastard and is acting devastated that he can throw it away for a young woman.

She's deteriorating and this is hurting the rest of the family members.

she won't remember a thing she says. sometimes that's good for her, bad for you.

i've dealt with this too. you just have to redirect the subject. nothing you say about cheating will change her mind. and she'll say it again soon after anyways. so, just redirect the subject each time

Hmm. If she’s mistaking you for a mistress, there are bigger issues at hand. Has she been diagnosed with dementia?

You can't do anything and it will only get worse. She has dementia or alzheimers more than likely

Could be an indication like uti can make someone confused especially older person
