I have been married to a woman who had children from a previous marriage, but I never had any children of my own, so I have no experience with blending two sets of children. My stepson was extremely rebellious - hated the world - and eventually returned to NY to live with his dad. My stepdau was neglected by her father and I tried to be a father figure to her. A few times, she didn't realize it but she called me "daddy." It felt very, very good. But her mother cheated on me, we got divorced, and I haven't seen the daughter since then.

I coached soccer for many years. Kids will tell you anything and ALL of them did not like their step fathers. It is not like the Brady Bunch.
