Why do infertile people get offended when someone tells them the positive things about it?

This seems to be the common reaction. Usually they don't want to hear anyone saying ''but you can now date childfree men/women'' or ''I wish that was me, girl/bro you're lucky''.

Why don't they want to hear the bright side of being infertile? Not being able to have kids isn't the end of the world. I get that it sucks but at least they don't have to worry about getting pregnant nor impregnating a woman.

Because saying positive things in the face of someone being unable to have biological children (meaning it is NOT their choice) is really condescending and rude. You’re trying to soothe your own issues when you do that, it’s completely egotistical and massively unsympathetic.

I suppose if your grandmother lost your husband you'd say ''but you can now date widowed men/women'' or ''I wish that was me, girl/bro you're lucky''. Or " now you can get doubled teamed at the old folks home"

When the biggest dream you have is having your own children there's no benefit to being infertile.

I suppose the closest thing to having kids (if you can't have bio kids) is either through a sperm donor, egg donor or adoption. Those are other ways of forming a family.

Because most infertile people desperately want kids, and due to factors outside their control they can't.
