What’s the last reason you ended a friendship?

Just had to end a friendship with someone I’ve known for 7+ years because he was caught being a pervert 🤢

he was caught trying to watch/record our female friend using the bathroom and changing in her own home. some crazy sick shit. She called him and recorded him confessing to it too.

this has been such a shock and completely devastating for our whole friend group right now.

its just insanity because he comes off as such a great guy. You would never think he would pull some shit like this. This has really made me question everything and rethink how much you can trust people.

I had a friend who lost his job, moved back with his parents and then didn't pursue another job. I'm not judging him harshly for the losing his job or moving back with his parents, it happens. But it's like at some point he decided to just sort of check out of life. My friend was always a private guy. Didn't want to share much of himself (in my opinion is why he didn't have many friends) talking to him many times was like pulling teeth. But i knew him for at least decade and he was a stand up guy for all those years. Then he just all of sudden went in a downward spiral. And you couldn't talk to him about it because he'd get hostile about any mention of it. It's like he felt everyone had some ulterior motive against him. So I eventually had to cut all ties with him. I still run into his brother every now and then and his brother tells me nothing has changed. And I worry about him because he's not getting any younger and his parents (God bless them) won't live forever. But I can't do this for him. This is something he's got to want to change. I tried getting him a job where I worked ( before i broke ties with him) and he thought I was setting him up somehow.

I had a friend I used to work with. This was over 20 years ago. We have kept in touch in all this time and have had lunch together a couple of times a year. We also emailed each other fairly regularly. Over the last couple of years I have sent her several emails I spend a lot of time emailing people and put s lot of thought into it. If I get a reply at all it is a one line response telling me how busy she is and will email me later.
The last one was 18 months ago. There will not be a next one I imagine. .

Because men aren’t friends. They always have a reason to keep you within arm’s reach. Two words: "I need you," and he expects me to focus all my attention on him. To drop my work and other friends, to listen to whatever he has to say. I can't interrupt him, of course, and definitely can't mention any of my own problems or even things I just want to share. That’s not fun. Him, his troubles, and the things he wants to talk about are fun. As long as I listen, I’m also considered fun.

Well, I’m not fun anymore. I told him that friendship means two people. Talking, but also listening. Taking, but also giving. Asking, "What do you need?" or "What’s missing for you?" or even "What can I do to make you feel cared for in this friendship?" He was surprised. And I stopped replying.

Best friend of 5 years, found out through mutual friends that he couldn’t keep anything to himself. He shared really sensitive stuff about me with his other friends. Completely lost my trust, and the next time I saw him it felt like I was interacting with a stranger, I felt absolutely no connection to him anymore.

I ended a friendship when I was 16 with this girl I thought was a friend. She dragged my little brother by his hair literally! I grabbed her by her hair and asked how does it feel? After that I never spoke with her again and don't want too either. Hurt my little bro and you're history!!

I knew this person since middle school and at first she was pretty cool. But then as time went on and she craved validation from this one specific girl (to this day I don't know why) she would be mean and weird to me for no reason. This carried on through our friendship and tbh she was always weird to me. However, as an impressionable teen I just hoped that she would be a better friend, despite what she would do to impress others at my expense. Just recently, I had told her and my other best friend about this guy I liked and I wanted them to like him too. Like be friends with him. It started off cool and then things started to get a little weird between my one friend and my crush (They were my friend too). She went to his town to visit a family member and my two friends (one of them being my crush) decided to meet up. WIthout me. Late in the evening. To go to a park lmao. I didn't want to think to deep into it but I thought it was very odd how excited she was to meet him in person. Fast forward a couple months of bs they eventually stopped being "friends" but a couple days after she had a mental breakdown and had to go to a facility not once, but twice. And in that time she had admitted to me that she liked him and how she felt bad about it. Lmao, and also she apologized for all the weird things she did to me during that time and at the time I felt bad for her so I stayed her friend to support her during a rough time. I suppressed my feelings, for her. Even though I was being emotionally and mentally hurt by this girl and had been for half our lives. She would apologize to me a lot and I told her to stop apologizing because I already let it go, at least I thought I did. Until I really sat with myself, and remember allllllll the fucked up things she did to me in our friendship just for validation. Then on a random day, I cut her off. And I haven't talked to her since. I would put everything but I could write a book about this.

I just grew apart from em. Was friends with him for almost 10 years, dude was kinda annoying before but, he just turned into an egotistical asshole and it got annoying. Always comparing himself to me and others thinking he’s better than everyone else, you buy a new thing and he buys the better version so he can brag about it. Was over it. Pretty crazy though, can know someone 10 years talk to em everyday, and they can just wear you out.
