Is having kids like a lifelong job?

Having kids can be a challenge for some, but it can also be expensive.

Raising a child can be an emotionally rewarding experience. But it can also be very costly. Statistics from the Brookings Institution, an economic think tank, show that the average middle-income family with two children will spend $310,605 to raise a child born in 2015 up to age 17 in 2032.

I have done a lot of things in life.. I mean I've had some very good experiences

But raising two kids and having them turn out the way they turned out is one of the best I mean the best things I've ever ever done and there's nothing that could top that
They are grown up and moved out.
They are great adults they are still my kids I'm still a kid when I get around them and yes it's a lifelong job lol but it's something I would not trade for anything

The only reason why I said it's a lifelong job is because in my eyes they will always be just my kids I will protect them and do whatever it takes to help them succeed become smarter wiser better it doesn't matter what it is they're your kids forever and you protect them forever

But no kids are way better than any lifelong job

Yes it is , but it’s also one of the best loves you will ever receive on this planet , a love that is pricelless ,, my kids’ have been the best gift sent to me from above , even though they can be a pain in my ass at times , the love I have for them is priceless , my kids stood by me through the good times and the bad times to the point I would kill if anyone tried hurting my kids’ so no matter what shit I am going though in life , I know my kids’ are there for me and they know I am there for them. Remember money doesn’t buy love

People now a days want to give out technology to their infants when they can't even walk yet. My parents would always find ways to save money and we would always go to the thrift stores. My mom would always cook at home we never eat out. My dad made good income even still my parents were smart enough to know to save as much possible. We went to Christian Academy and we never went to public preschool my mom homeschool us until we were in first grade my parents would sing us for Christian Academy school. I also live in a no HOA neighborhood just an old house my parents paid off. We were never into luxury. Now a days people say to must dress your baby with luxury name brand clothes and now days moms do not want to breast feed they're lazy and want to just feed formula. Now a days woman do not want to used cloth diapers again lazy rather waste money and buy disposable diapers. My mom used cloth diapers but again that was back in the 80's and 90's. Now a days woman are lazy.

That number looks suspiciously low to me, a father of three in New York. I presume some of that would be the cost of living differential - Lord knows this is not Mississippi!

I think averages hide a lot of information and knowing the median would be much more informative.

You’ll always love them, care for them, wish them the best, and provide them the best for their situation to help them grow.

The biggest issue I've seen with kids is not having your priorities straight. If someone doesn't understand that then your life will gradually fall apart trying to change your lifestyle so much in a way that doesn't nore has ever worked. Is it life long? Guess that depends. I'd say it veers aways from seeming like a job once as the kids develop a sense of independence for themselves.

Yes the parents are always the providers no matter what and then when you get old enough, they don’t wanna fool with you any longer so they just stick you in a nursing home. That’s how it works here in America and probably everybody everywhere else.

For some people, it is a lifelong job. I know a guy whose daughter is mentally ill and has even got violent and injured him several times. She is 34 and he still lets her live with him at home.
