Our dog turned 3 years old this past week, so we had a small private birthday party for her. She had a party hat on and a small doggy cake.

When I moved into my current home, six years ago, Uncle Thunder was already a resident. He agreed to stay if I fed him, and in exchange, he would keep mice away from the house (old farmhouse with an adjacent wooded lot.) The deal has worked out well, and he also comes in on my enclosed back porch at night and during bad weather. He has never told me his birthday so there's never been any birthday parties.

I used to have a dog and I'd give him an extra treat and a long bath and scrub on his birthday

Where did you get the doggy cake?

The doggy cake came from the local pet store. They make their own pet cookies and cakes, consisting of rolled oats and yogurt icing.
