What can I do to be more independent/free until I finish the process of learning to drive and saving toward moving out?

I am 28 years old. I live with my parents. I sleep on the let out couch. I have a two year old son and I work full time. I waited late but I’m finally making moves In my life that will set me free from my parents and their control but I know I won’t learn to drive, get a car and a apartment for my son and I overnight. I do what I can to still be independent though. I wash my own clothes, I buy my own clothes, I buy my own groceries, I pay for my own transportation and I provide clothing, food etc for my son but I want to do more. I dislike having to ask for rides to take my son and I somewhere. I dislike not having privacy. I dislike my parenting ways being intervened with by my parents toward my son. Which is why I got up and started taking driving classes and searching for apartments. I just hate that I can’t do it all overnight/fast. I’m yearning for that freedom/peace

What happened to the father or your child? Isn't he paying child support? Maybe you were a little TOO independent and are now paying the price. Did you go to college and have a good job or do you work at Walmart? I would look at the pros and cons of being on your own, because it is extremely hard to work full-time and juggle childcare as it is not cheap. Plus who will take the child to school, to the doctor, or deal with emergencies? These are good reasons to have mom and dad nearby. You got some tough decisions to make. I hope you make the right ones this next round. 😯

Sounds like you are doing all you can atm. Everything you described is the consequences of your poor choices. Don't make poor choices if you don't want the consequences.

You need to take a class on how to not make poor life decisions or something like that for starters.
