There are laws for that.

Depending on the state and country you live in, you can probably sue him for child support, especially if his name is on the child's birth certificate.

Your first step is probably to talk your case over with a lawyer. there might be some organizations that will help you for free or reduced cost.

Or, you could always threaten to sue the guy, and hope that he agrees to pay child support out of fear of the potential jail time for nonpayment.

I’ve just seen it with my eyes so many times I don’t have anyone kids I don’t want any because of that reason.

Where? In the US you go to court to get a support order. A state agency will enforce the order. If he has a job they will garnish his wGes. But if he has no regular income he won't be able to pay.

Go to your county courthouse and ask were to go to file for child support. They will help you. The more info you have about him (address, place of employment, etc) the easier it is to get him served.
