Are the days of big families over?

I grew up in a big family, 10 total. Most people now have zero - 3 kids... What do you think?

Yes, there is a real problem with human fertility. A record number of people have been paying for IVF treatments because they are having trouble conceiving the old fashioned way. This results in smaller families. Besides that , kids are very expensive to raise. Only the very rich and people on welfare can afford them. I had 3 kids and most people I knew stopped at 1 or 2.

Almost like it costs 3x more to raise a kid than it did 20 years ago. Parents don't use kids for free labor like they used to either. Medicine is better so more kids survive.

It's becoming less common but there's definitely still some big families out there. Like in my neighborhood everyone has 4+ kids
