Why be friends with someone if they don't ever initiate a conversation with you?

I agree. I had a couple female friends that close and like sisters to me. But it was always for me to call. It left me feeling that I was putting more value on them, then they were putting on me. One of them moved interstate.

It wasn't that I thought I'll test her and she if she will call if I don't but it was more that because it was up to to initiate I just gradually dropped the calls down.

Yeh. That's explain why I don't have friends or why I am unable to hold anyone for longer by my side as I always hesitate to initiate.

But I have my own reasons for why I'm like this. Since I have my memory, I remember, I often craved for friendship. I used to go to children around me of my age myself to talk to them especially who were smart and intelligent. But i felt like ignored. I felt bad. Also I don't know what was reason maybe my brain was more mature or different from others that I never was interested in gossips etc. I didn't know how to. Growing up because of I don't know what reason I didn't learn social skills well. So I often get misunderstood by people around me of my age.

Like some wanted to keep distance from me telling I can't keep secrets. Some laughing behind my back about my habits what were natural for me but different from them (eg - for not able to tolerate spiciness). And I used to be very sensitive child. So whenever something such they behaved it hurted me more and more again. And like that I started shrinking myself more and more inside my shell.

Sometimes whenever I tried to reach someone they were busy or forgotten that I was there. And this all made me more hesitated to reach to anyone.

Then my depression came and I started feeling scared to face anyone to talk to anyone. I had fear that if they will ask me what I'm doing in my career what I will answer. So i never initiated myself.

But yeh if anyone reach to me they never get disappointed. I give them all the importance they deserve. And I am always thankful to them in my heart.

I have such friends, or at least some of them are like that.

Why?

Because we have something in common, because we get along well, because they are interesting in some way.
