Probably someone I had to deal with for some kind of paperwork formality, and they confirm your name. My parents never really did it. My mom would say the full name ”Steven” when she was mad, but she also just would call me Steven anyway. I much prefer “Steve.” So I jokingly tell people I’m meeting the first time who call me Steven, “Steve is cool. ‘Steven’ was just for my mom when she was mad at me.”😝

Funny story this reminded me of, and even funnier now that I can’t find any record of his middle name online…Brandon Bolden, mostly of Patriots fame, but also played for the Miami Dolphins for a minute, I had an interaction with him at a training camp practice.

I had my young cousins with me so I was up at the barrier fence with a crowd waiting for players signing autographs. One was Brandon Bolden, who was a rookie. Not a huge name, very good special teams player, but that doesn’t get you on a Wheaties box, haha.

Anyway, he’s signing for my cousins and some other kids (and a few adults…. grow up, this is for the children🤦‍♂️😂), and from the back of the crowd, I hear “Brandon Emmanuel (making up the middle name, I forget the real one) Bolden!”, and he looks up, and he’s like “ohhhhh, DAMN!!!”, and it’s some woman who obviously knew him when he was a kid or a teenager. And she’s wading through the crowd to get to him, and saying she’s so proud of him, etc. I’m kind of trying to help tell people to let her through, and I say to Brandon Bolden “We gotta get her through, she hit you with the whole government.” And he goes “the WHOLE government!” and laughed.

And that’s the story of the time I talked to a football player most people have never heard of, lmfao. Enthralling😂 But the point is that it definitely got HIS attention.

Nobody uses my full name, because only about 4 people even know my middle name, and they know I hate it.

I do have two first names... which also come out as Jonathan Santiago!!whenever I joke a bit too much... which, also tends to happen about twice a month, lmfao
