A close friend who cares so much about you can't give you 5 mins of their day, what does this mean to you?

Is it possible that a close friend tells you that they care so much about you, yet they can't give you at least 5 mins of their day to text you?

You don't even receive a simple text that takes a minute but they tell you that you mean the world to them.

Not to mention that they join the exact same app as you and you see them active texting others / replying to others, yet they don't send you a simple text. Then after few days this person tells you excuses on why he didn't text you, but the excuses are full of lies and aren't reasonable.

How hard is it to spend 5 mins of your full day to text back or talk with your close friend if you claim they mean the world to you?

Maybe he just doesn’t want to give you the wrong impression by texting you every day through the day. You say that you’re close friends, maybe a little too close now for his comfort and he’s trying to create a bit of distance.


Let’s play devils advocate; even if that weren’t the case, talking to you just isn’t his priority. If he’s talking to others but not you right now, he just isn’t interested in whatever conversation you’re trying to have, whether it’s an actual topic or even simple thing like a meme, funny video, music, etc. In my opinion, that isn’t a mean or fake thing, it also doesn’t mean he doesn’t care for you or any of that. Sometimes we just don’t feel like talking to certain people and as you get older I think people become more understanding of that boundary. Like I have best friends of over 10 years that it can either take me long to reply or I don’t at all. They never give me shit.

Maybe you care more about him than he does about you. It's comforting to think your feelings are mirrored and are as strong as yours. That doesn't always occur.

That being said, people need their own space from time to time. Not texting back right away doesn't mean that all is lost.

Like the old saying, actions speak louder than words. If it is an ongoing pattern with them, they obviously don't care for you the way they say they do.
