Does it make sense for a father to keep pictures of his grown daughters in his personal collection box?

My mom has been absent a lot due to her sickness. She has been in/out of the hospital and sometime has to stay nights and weeks at the hospital. While cleaning my parent house I found my dad personal box with pics of me and sisters in it and they are recent pics.

Does your dad only have daughters?

If not does he have any pics of his sons?

I'd say his kids are his most cherished things (as well as his partner/wife) in the world and he wants to have memories and he has to do it himself now your mum is sick and that is why the pics are all recent but I can only reflect on my own thoughts/experience

I get the feeling that maybe these pics are important for keeping him going in day to day life because it would be so traumatic having a partner going through this and super hard not to fall into the depression that sucks the life out of so many going through this sort of thing.

Give your dad a massive hug next time you see him and I hope your mum makes a full recovery

Of course it's normal the reverse would be weird, my father always kept a lot of pictures of me, my sister and my mother in his coin purse.
