My mom bailed on me and my dad when she got unhappy and I'm 90% sure she cheated on my dad with her current husband. My dad cheated on her first but she didn't know that at the time and out of the blue one day she just started screaming at my dad accusing him of cheating with 0 proof. When people do that unprompted with nothing to back up their claim it's almost always because they cheated and they're praying that their SO did too so they can be "Even."

For a while I was angry with my dad but when I thought about it over time I ultimately sided with him. My mom checked out of the marriage around the same time his affair happened, and she left to get a new job a state away soon after because she was "Unhappy." with her current job. She then took a job that was even worse after moving away. My parents weren't separated at the time either she was just selfish and decided to ditch her son and husband for her own happiness and I haven't forgiven her for it.

Honestly, I'm glad my dad cheated on her she could be an awful woman at times. My dad never raised a hand to her, and I remember multiple times she struck him. My dad provided, he shared the housework he did everything a husband was supposed to do and it wasn't enough because she was too selfish to appreciate him.

Their relationship was emotionally abusive even if she only hit him a few times and hitting your spouse period is wrong and sick. As far as I'm concerned if a woman hits you it's fair to hit back at that point. Honestly in my dad's place I would have back handed her.

When I was younger my mom was one of my biggest support systems because my had had to do a lot of extra work that my mom didn't because not only did, he work the same job as her, but he did his share of the housework too while also shouldering other responsibilities my mom never bothered with. He protected my family from genuine harm on more than one occasion, and he still wasn't enough for my mom to not be a bitch half the time.

Over the years she changed and washed her hands of us, and I'll always have a part of me that hates her for that. I know she feels guilty and has regrets, but I can't forgive her the damage is done, and her gestures have largely been reduced to financial support. Any time I need help with a problem money can't fix she can't be bothered. She is trying to visit more often but it's largely too late. I don't respect her even if I still love her and every time I see her there is an undertone of resentment I have to hide.

After everything I saw my dad go through it really pisses me off we go on and on about dead beat dads and never ever even mention how many dead beat moms there are out there.

Depends, for some time I would say my Childhood bestfriend girl who no longer is. And the rest of the time my bro not related but might as well be, though he is vastly different to me in a lot of ways.

As to her it was our chaotic energy, we would fight all the time and get into trouble was great. As to him, well like I said we have differences yet he's always stuck with me and I him hell I dislike most things about him but still strong bond.

My oldest brother.

When I was a kid, I got sexually abused by a family friend, afterwards my oldest brother became my biggest support and protector, we did everything together and I became his shadow. He was the one I missed the most when we migrated countries and was so happy when he moved here. Broke my heart when he moved back to Iceland. 😔
