Are you closer to your family or friends?

The older I get, the more I realize that I've grown closer to my friends than my family. While I love my family dearly, it's just not the same as the love I have for my friends.

I know that may be messed up to say seeing as these are the people that raised me, but I've built such a strong connection and bond with my friends. Something that wasn't forced but just happened unlike with family where you're kind of forced to have a bond with them.

Not saying that you shouldn't have a bond with family, but I just noticed the bond is a lot stronger with my two closest friends.

I get exactly what you mean. This is not to say that you are not close to your family, but the way you can have some heart to heart conversations with your closest friends; say anything without filter and not be judged for it, is very freeing and comforting. Had a lovely day with one of my best friends just like that and it made me realise that some people are really for life, no matter where life takes you. They get you on a level no one else does and have seen and loved you through every version you grow into. Truly blessed to have such great friendships in life.

Family comes first for me. My friends understand me more than family, but family is always there for me, whereas friends aren't as much, although I do give them credit that they are there to an extent.

I can always rely on my family. I can't always rely on my friends.

It's depends on the friends I use to be closer to my friends.. but since my mom past. I see my brother and sister a lot more. Because they always need something it seems like. But lately more friends with myself. I've been doing more for me..

I do not have family except my wife and kids and I am close with them. Most of my friends are dead.

I dont talk to my growing up friends anymore. I've known a few that has passed. I have a few friends and my wife and her family. I'm ok with what it is.

Friends sadly. I have maybe two family members I am close to. The rest feel like distant relatives.
