Should I put child support on him?

I'm making $19 an hour and my child father making $15 an hour. We both works full time. He thinks just because I'm making a little bit more than him that he don't need to give me anything for our son. That I should be the only one who provides for our son is that fair? And what should I do?

File for child support. The difference in the amount of money you're being paid is negligible. He sounds like he's simply being cheap. And he's probably also angry.

Does he take care of your son and have visitation rights? If he's involved then he should be paying child support. It won't be much since he doesn't make much.

Only reason why I'm upset because I have Bills I have to pay as well and I'm spending money on my son clothes, food and doctor stuff and he's not doing nothing now he saying if I do put child support on him that he will abuse me

Sounds like you need a lawyer and a restraining order. Get these things in place RIGHT AWAY. It's clear he IS angry and doesn't want to pay anything. This is very sad because children need fathers. Do what you can to remain civil. Do not tell him ANYTHING about what you're doing legally. He'll find out eventually. But tell the lawyer you need a restraining order because he's threatened you. Make sure your family and friends also know he has threatened you.

Get a therapist to talk over these issues also. You need to show the court that you are the responsible parent, at this point in time. He may just be all talk, or he might be dangerous. You can tell him that your parents and all your friends know that he's threatened you, and also call the police. Write down the date and time he threatened you so the cops know. You'll still need a court order for a restraining order. The lawyer will handle this.

Women are killed every day by crazy, angry men. Don't be one of them. Your child needs you. Don't allow him around you or your child because of what he's told you. Difficult. First: Does he care about his child? That is more important than money then if you are not together anymore. If you are together - no. But you asked so the trust of him is destroyed... it is much more difficult now to raise the child together without letting differences out maybe. We all know not enough to tell you anything. If I have moneyproblems I maybe would try not to become pregnant. I understand your situation, it is very hard.

Child support is based on the lack of difference in income. If you make more, you’ll pay more, that’s kind of the logic

Bring proof of that with you to court and you’ll get support without sharing custody
