I live in Turkey — how did an unknown foreign girl find my number?

Yesterday, at 16:18 Turkey time, she called me — an India number. I checked her profile picture, it’s not anywhere on the internet, the photo is real. I only sent one message. I was very curious how she found me while I’m in Turkey. I researched, her name shows as Maina Guti, and 3 people have saved her number.

This is the photo of the foreign number that called me.

And this is the message I wrote:

Never reply to anyone that you don't know. It just verifies that your address/phone number is active.

"She" could have called you by a bot dialing totally random numbers. If they knew your name, it probably came from one of a million lists floating around out there.

Never reply, just block it. Since you verified your number by replying, you probably just got on another list.

"She" is probably not even a person.

I didn’t write my number anywhere and I only sent one message. I haven’t replied again. There’s no internet, just one signal bar.

Is that her photo? Doesn't particularly look Indian, it looks like the picture of a white woman. I don't know, maybe she got your number from someone or some site? It's probably spam.

That photo is of someone they probably found on internet. Block that number. It's a scammer. Block and report.

The photo isn’t on the internet — I checked everywhere. The picture is real; she’s probably using a photo of someone close to her. It’s been one day, and I only sent one message when there was just one signal bar.

You can steal pictures from Instagram and post it and people can't do reverse image search if that account is private but I guess maybe you're right or maybe it's AI. Who knows.

Just don't entertain. They're catfish and I'm pretty sure they are planning to do something shady if you respond

I got a text from a random girl who stays in Macau. Tried to lookup the pic up on internet found it nowhere. Similar scenario, it was a bot ig.
