Apparently 67% of parents monitor their student kids movements. So how do you feel? Is it creepy? Over protective? Perverted? Or just caring?

No I wouldn't do it i know kids are going to be kids and when they go aways it's time for them to experience life
I know my kids have good heads on there shoulders . They have a good foundation And they are going to do stupid things and experiment
And I also know they did something too stupid. I would be the first one that they called
But I believe in them one hundred percent no matter what they do or are doing.
And they know that there are 2 ways to learn and the the first way us to experience and understand
The second wsy is through pain and experiencing it
It's a choice kinda sometimes we pick t he wrong way .
But that's when we learn the best way the pain only last until you learn from it
Too little information. Merely having an app so you can find someone, or their devices, as needed is different from staring at your own device 24/7 so you can track their every movement. There are multiple apps for every device that allow millions of people to track others, and their devices. I don’t think that is considered strange anymore.
I’m willing to bet that if the person in question was the mother, it would not have even been reported on.
I know plenty of families who keep Life360 on everyone, even when they graduate and leave for college.
Just this week, the mother of a friend got a notification that her son called 911. She wasn't able to contact him, but she was able to look at Life360 to see where he was. Then she contacted the dispatch of that town and found out he had a car crash and his watch automatically called 911.
'Adult children' is something that clashes. Adults can come and go as they please. Parents are responsible for their underaged children. The situation you describe can only be done in the second case.

I added a 4th bedroom and another bathroom onto my house when my kids weree in high school. There are enough good colleges near my house so they commuted to school. I bought them cars , not brand new but 2 year old lease cars.
The addition was a better investment than a pile of recipts for a crummy dorm room an lousy cafeteria food. They all graduated in 4 years with no debt ans all make more money that me. The plan worked.
Absolutely not doing something like this is intrusive and controlling and has no real defensible purpose. Adults are adults and they deserve to have their independence and privacy without intrusions from anyone, including parents. If the father cannot control his anxiety regarding his daughter's safety, then he needs to get some therapy for this and not impose his psychological dysfunctions on her.
I never tracked my kids. To do so shows total distrust and poor parenting. Teach your kids about values and safety and you won't feel the need to track them.
If I had kids, after the way I behaved at college, I wouldn't let them out of the basement!🤣
I think it's natural for parents to be protective when it comes to their children, but University students are old enough... they can take care of themselves.
As long as she’s aware and ok with it I don’t see the problem. Even many friends and partners do this with snap maps and what not.
@purplepoppy all depends on their age, if you mean adult as 18yr old, then I don’t see anything wrong on what father was doing.
My kids live their own lives, it never occurred to me to track them.
i mean if it's for her safety and she actually wants this, i see nothing wrong with it. but if he forces this upon her, that's not ok.
Perhaps but unlikely. They are adults and deserve to be treated as such.
My son is older and I still track him but not to be nosey, mainly to make sure he’s doing ok
my parents did and I don't care that they did
Absolutely. Can't have the kids going off on their own having fun and behaving like adults.
The hell nooooo out of sight out of mind
No but then I wouldn't send them to university
Nah.
