Is it ok to disown a child?

you have the worst, most evil child and there is nothing you can do about it. this kid has run your life down, sucked up all your resources, is ungrateful, hates you and all the rules you try to raise him under. This child causes you stress and headaches everyday. he threatens to call CPS on you whenever you're about to discipline it.

A young child I would say generally no, unless you know you are not a good parent and cannot learn to be one and feel strongly that the child would be better off being raised by adoptive parents (which might be true in some extreme cases). An adult child I would say would take something pretty extreme, not just that they don't practice your religion or you don't like their sexual orientation or they've pursued a career different than what you wanted. In those cases, I think you should stick with your child even if you don't really like some things about them. If, however, they are abusing you or engaged in serious criminal activity, I think it's reasonable to distance yourself from that.

Not every woman is meant to be a mom. If you’re being honest with yourself and you know you can’t do it anymore then sure consider other options like adoption. You’re the one who has to live with it.
