Girls, how do you deal with jealous female being toxic?

Hi all. I have this friend, I thought we were good friends but I’ve caught her twice now saying the most insane unreal stuff behind my back. She did it to me a few months ago but was going through a rough time. Friends told me and what she was saying was a pack of lies. Anyway I put it down to her being tired and pushed it to one side. Then today one of our friends was off with me. I was a bit confused and couldn’t understand why. Then I was told she’d said something ludicrous behind my back again to the friend. I spoke with the friend and she said she knew it was so out there I wouldn’t have done anything but she was upset. We made up. These things are random and out of the blue. And there’s no reason why she’d single me out.

We are very similar in personality and like the same things. She’s unhappy in her marriage and job etc. She says to my face she likes me so it makes no sense

Dude, just drop the friend. It doesn’t matter why she’s being this way, but she’s going to continue to do this as long as you keep in contact with her.
