Was it rude of me to hang up on this person?

I got a call twice yesterday from a number I didn't recognize. They called me again just now so I answered. It was a lady with a real thick accent. I said hello. She said hello how are you. I said good how are you? She said good thank you for asking. Then she went on to explain something. I couldn't understand what she was saying, like I said she had a strong accent. It was like "something something something vaccine" I didn't say like sorry im not interested. I just hung up. Was that rude?

I recently answered the phone to someone claiming to be a police officer who had someone with my surname and a random first name in custody. They started asking irrelevant questions and hung up immediately when I said I wasn't convinced they really were police. I tried reporting them to the provider who would only block their number from calling me, not protect anyone else who might me more gullible. What I should have done was report them to the police; impersonating a police officer is a crime.

If you ask A. I. they will also get you multiple places you can report such things to beyond just the police that SUPPOSEDLY would care. Not sure if they are the same as what you already called though

Define rude? More and more and more people are doing it because 99.999% of the time that happens, it is someone trying to steal from you. I don't think it's rude to do actions that would otherwise be rude when it's done to end an interaction with scum.

I got same yesterday, thinking it MIGHT be from a family member in that area. It wasn't. When lady started her spiel about something she was selling, I hung up. It's exhausting being harassed by sales pitches! These cold callers KNOW this.
