Was this rude of my friend to do?

I was looking back on this and wanted to know if this was rude?

Every Christmas we get each other something. She bought me the cyberpunk game for the ps4 last Christmas. A couple days after Christmas I met up with her to exchange gifts.

And when I grabbed the game I noticed the protective wrapping wasn't around the case and I found that weird. As I am walking back to my car I open the case to make sure the game is in there and I notice the case is empty.

I go back to her house and tell her the game isn't in there and she sighs because her 12 year old nephew didn't put the game back. And she goes to her ps4 and takes the game out and puts it back in the case. I thought that it was rude that she let her nephew open the game that was for me and let him play with it.

The disk actually acts weird till this day.

Hmmmm. Maybe I'm wrong but it seems like she was trying to be dishonest about it. Like she knew the game wasn't in the case and she would've felt how light it was when she gave it to you.

I'll bet you $100 that when you came back to ask about it, she was prepared to tell you that story about her nephew to cover herself. Otherwise I think she thought she could probably get away with it but wanted to see if you would figure out the game was already gone early enough and then have that story ready, and if you never said anything but brought it up later, she probably would've lied and said she didn't know what happened to it.

I had a friend once who's stepdad's kids stole her Nintendo switch and they completely denied it but she knew they had it. Sometimes we don't know somebody like we think we do.
