Should you block a friend who deleted you off instagram out of pettiness?

A friend of mine deleted me off Instagram because they were hurt by something. He said it was because I said something weird. That was it. I’m still not sure why he did that and thought it was an overreaction and very rude as well. Friends don’t just delete each other for a small disagreement. Should I block them as well? If they try to find me again in the future? He just sounds like a shitty person.
