Is hanging up rude?

So I’ve been seeing this guy and just often he’s been having me on hold almost every time he calls. We talk for like maybe for 10 minutes before puts me on hold for a phone call or whatever reason and before he does he tells me not to hang up. I’m on hold for like 10+ minutes and hang up. But then he calls back all upset asking why did I hang up or sometimes I hang up and he doesn’t call back until two hours later.

Not being rude. If he wants to call back afterwards he can but I find it rude that he keeps you on hold as if you don’t have anything else going on in your life.

Tell him he can call back when he is done.
