What are your thoughts of getting pregnant if you aren’t ready for a baby?

It happens more than you think right? When the pregnancy isn’t planned and it just happens. Is it true that no one is ever ready for a baby even if they are still living with their parents? They just have to make the best of it right? If they are in their 20’s or early 30’s. How are they able to make it work instead of having an abortion or giving the baby up for adoption?

NO ONE is ever really "ready" for a baby. Babies turn your whole life inside out and upside down in ways no one can ever imagine.

Nor does pregnancy ever "just happen" -- it's a consequence of the choice you make with your body and your life. You don't want a baby? Keep your legs crossed, baby. Making correct choices is the only way to avoid situations you truly don't want.

As far as raising a kid you don't want... the kid ultimately feels that he/she is not wanted. OR someone tells them a stupid "oops baby" story that haunts them till the end of days... so depending on the situation, some children are happier raised by a surrogate parent. But abortion isn't the answer in my opinion.

Yeah it’s not. Why when it happens to someone autistic like me the parents make them have an abortion rather then someone without a disability?

Autism doesn't prevent a person from being a good parent. You *do* need to monitor the child closely for certain neuropsychological learning impairments, but if you're autistic you'll have a sense of what that entails, so the child will have a caring, understanding parent.

ALSO... there are nannies and health aids to help out if a parent feels like they're too stressed to raise and understand a child on their own.

It doesn't "just happen." That is what people claim when they don't want to be held responsible for the consequences of their actions. . . but the rest of us are not required to believe that it "just happened." No, a woman gets pregnant because she decides to have sex with a man, and he decides to have sex with her (deliberate actions, not random events) and neither bothers to consider birth control (more deliberate actions,) and then they both fail to get the morning after pill.

Happened to a friend of mine, when he was 19 and she was 17 and still in school. How is the expression - it takes a village to raise a child? Well, in their case it was the four grandparents, that helped out a lot.
