I don't think it's selfish, but I think the closest thing to a valid argument is the fact that older people rely on younger people to keep things running like healthcare, taxes, etc. If you don't have kids, you're benefiting from everyone else's kids and the sacrifice it took to raise them.

Some people also assume the reason people choose not to have children is just to drink, travel, party, and do whatever you want, avoiding real responsibility. But it'd be a lot worse to prioritize all of that and then get a kid anyway.

So in my opinion, I have a chronic illness. I deal with chronic pain every day. In my opinion, it would be selfish for me to have kids because I wouldn’t be able to care for them the way that I should run around with them.
