I lived with my father after my parents' divorce, and when I was in my late teens, he got his dumb ass thrown in prison. So it wasn't so much him "letting me go" as much as it was, "Well, I guess I'm on my own, now."

Yes , always. I'm definitely the favorite child. My parents are very protective over us and they always hope for the best for us..

They dropped me off at a cousin's house and drove off. I only saw them one more time after that. Letting go meant nothing to them.

When I left for school, they were not quite ready I don't think. I came back for a little bit after I finished school, and after a little while, they were ready for me to go that time lol
