I'm a dog guy.
I love dogs.

I've been attacked, unprovoked, by too many cats in my life to ever be comfortable around them.

I think they sense fear in me and attack because they're not sure of what is going on with me in regard to them.

When I was a little boy, raised in the suburbs, I was visiting a family member's farm where I attempted to pick up a feral cat.
It tore the daylights out of me.
I've been leery of cats ever since.

I love both but I love cats a bit more. I think it’s because I never grew up with just one cat at time. I always had at least 3. Current have 5.

I was never really interested in cats. Dogs love their humans while cats friends of mine had didn't seem to give af about anyone.

Yes, back home. She is an old lady now. Sadie is her name and she is a lab. Here at school, we actually get a temporary guest (dog) for the week next week.

There is a program in the vet school where you can sign up to host a service dog in training. We pick him/her up at the end of the day and keep overnight and bring him/her back each morning for a whole week. Nice program for us students and for the dogs.

I know, we are super excited. We signed up at the beginning of last semester for a spot. Next week is the week. Very popular program here, especially those with animals at home that you are away from most of the year.

Are they mostly large dogs?

Absolutely. I'll let ya know Monday afternoon. We are (roommates and I) all going to fill out the waiver, get a quick rundown of responsibilities and whatnot and then to our dorm we go.

I have seen them around campus throughout the year with other students that signed up. We wanted to wait until spring so we could have nicer weather to be outside with the dog. The ones I have seen vary. The service dogs are typically medium to large and the therapy dogs usually on the medium to smaller side. We won't know what we get until Monday.

We are going to take a little walk across campus if the rain holds off to visit some friends. Once we know more about the dog, we might go get a frisbee or one of those things that whips tennis balls far.

That or employ my boyfriend to use his lacrosse stick to do it lol.
