What type of 'Job (s) did Your Mom used to do, before You were born or after You were born, that, You think is awesome?

My mom told me many years later, what one of her jobs was. I think it's very cool!

My mother didn't start working until I was 12 in 1975. She was 32 and had just become an orphan within the past year. She ended up being a gym instructor and was rather good at it receiving accolades from the owner who owned many gyms in the New York metropolitan area.

My mom was a dental assistant. When her family moved from Iowa to Whittier, CA, she got a job at a dental office in downtown Los Angeles and used to ride the trolley to work and back. Los Angeles was a lot different in the 1950s.

By the way, she quit when her and my dad got married and they moved into a new home. I was born 9 months later. :D

My mom owned a travel agency and still does. That, together with the fact that my granddad used to work with an airlines, allowed me to travel practically the entire world (with a few exceptions) at a very cheap price and even free of charge except for the fuel surcharge.

There are not only positive sides to traveling free or at reduced fares because often, I would travel on stand-by basis, which means that I could only board the airplane if there were empty seats on it. I don't count the number of times where I got stuck at an airport because there were no seats, not even the so-called jump seat. Those are usually unused crew seat. Very uncomfortable on long haul flights because

1. they don't recline

2. they are very hard

3. you face the entire cabin and everyone just stares at you all the time.

My mother served in the US Marines during WW2. She was stationed at Camp Pendleton in San Francisco. She was nearly 6 feet tall and quite the looker in her uniform.

My mother worked as an editor at a news channel. Now She does e commerce .
