Do you think friendships end because people change or because people find it hard to embrace change?

Often because one friend changes while the other stays the same. Outgrowing friends is just part of life. They don’t always want to grow with us, and sometimes they also grow in other directions. It’s sad but I do believe it’s necessary - some people enter our lives to show us valuable life lessons, often bad, and others enter our lives to show us kindness when we needed it most. That doesn’t mean they have to remain with us.

It's definitely more on the side of because people change.

Embracing change isn't always good. People can do something that would break the trust in a friendship permanently. They can do stuff that could emotionally scar you. They can do things that disrespect you.

If someone has changed for the worse, ending the friendship and removing toxicity from your life is not you being unable to embrace change. It's you being intelligent with who you surround yourself with.

I think that life is change. The schedules of both people can change in ways that are critical to their advancement and success. People move. People are pulled apart by necessity. Sometimes interests change or more convenient situations occur. You meet someone who is closer, more convenient to associate with in your limited free time. A thousand scenarios, some of which were never really conscious choices.

I think many friendships end because after awhile people realize things about the other person that they won’t tolerate anymore. Or they see things about them that makes one realize you are better off with no contact.
One thing I have learned too, is never to chase anyone. If they don’t bother to call you or even text to see how you are after you’ve done it multiple times, then do the same.

I typically don't find there's always one reason for things like this. It could be if it was one really horrific thing a friend does to you, but typically I think it's just that life gets in the way. For ex.. Getting married, moving away, having kids, busy work life..

Usually friendships end through betrayal or distance.

Like keeping friendships going as a n adult between work, marraige kids and other stuff can be difficult

Mostly because people's lives change. People get married, have kids, change jobs, move away, But sometimes people just find that they do not have much in common anymore.
