Is my dad lying about being laid off from work?

It’s kinda sketchy because apparently his job is moving to Texas in March and all the sudden when I got home from work in the afternoon I saw my dad’s car there and thought to myself doesn’t he need to be in the city for work now then I saw him sleeping on the couch and said what’s going on he said I don’t wanna be in the city anyone for work it’s gross and his boss is making him work from home until March. I don’t know how that’s possible if you’re laid off which is so strange. He was acting like a child in a way. I feel like there is more to the story. Why would he decide to work from home all the way until March if he got “laid off”?

Why would you think he’s lying and why would he decide to work from home until March? I find this strange. I don’t think he’s allowed to request to be working from home. I’ve always been home alone with no problem. Do you find this bizarre and you think he’s lying or not?
