Would I be wrong to choose my own phone plan instead of sharing with my dad?

My dad wants me to open a phone plan in my name for both of us, and he would continue paying the bill. However, I’d honestly rather have my own separate account and be financially independent. There are also some personal reasons why I’m uncomfortable having things connected to him, but I don’t want to hurt his feelings or make him feel rejected.

Would you agree to the shared plan, or would you get your own? How would you explain your decision without upsetting him?
