Sister kicked me out of her wedding?

Next month I was supposed to be the maid of honor for my sis' wedding. Anyway yesterday she organized to go shoe shopping for the wedding. I cancelled plans and agreed to go with her. Today she calls up and cancels (something she does frequently). She told me to give her my bank details and she would put money in and to get what ever. It kind of annoyed me that she always cancels plans so I text her and said to not worry that I would pay for the shoes. She then angrily writes to me and my other sis (who is a bridesmaid as well) that she doesn't want us to be her bridesmaid anymore, She blew things way out of proportion so I told her that in that case I wasn't going to her wedding and she said, "fine by me." So I was like "good stuff" and then she's like, "you'll never hear from me again." I responded with "Take care". I know she meant what she said, I just feel kind of upset that she would act that way. Did I do wrong by saying I would pay for the shoes?

My sister is 25 by the way and lives 2 hours away with her boyfriend, so it's not like we live together to sort things out.

No, you didn't do anything wrong. Offering to pay for the shoes showed class on your part. As to cutting you out as a bridesmaid, did she give any reason or hint as to why? Was there any bad blood between you two that would cause this?

Whatever the reason, I'm sorry this happened to you. I can't even imagine what you're going through right now, but I'm certain it's horrible. That's very unfair of her to cut you and your other sister out like that. And the fact that she didn't even have the courage to tell you face-to-face is just classless on her part.

I hope that things work out between you two; I really do. :(

Even if she didn't tell you, there must be more to the story. No one blows up that much over a bridesmaid being willing to pay for her own shoes. My guess is that she was stressed about other things and you just happened to get caught in the crossfire (in which case, I'd expect her to call up soon and apologize), or she has some mental issue that causes her to blow up over minor things. I don't offer that last one derisively; I'm serious. Of course, not knowing her, I can't say either way.

People are often frazzled by wedding preparations and not in their right minds. Of course you have to go to the wedding. If I were you I'd go head and go to the rehearsal and talk to your sister there. Don't even brin gup the shoes, she's probably too overhwelmed with things to even think about it. Just let everything ride and don't contradict her about anything. She sounds like she can't handle any complications right now.

After all, it's her only wedding day...probably! Certainly the only 'frist' one!

She is acting like a retarded, angry, narcissistic child. I suggest you cut her out of your life for like, five years -- give her a chance to mature on her own. She plainly has no business interacting with people, so treat her like a pariah and she should eventually reform her terrible attitude.

Yeah this isn't the first time. Family cut her out because she did really horrible things and she came back 2 years later, so this is the second time she does it.

Yeah I suggest you excommunicate her. If you try to tell her why she has an attitude problem you can be sure you'll just get narcissistic rage back in return. You could state your feelings but she probably doesn't understand those very well, being emotionally paralyzed.

Why would she get mad about you offering to pay for the shoes? Was you paying for the shoes going to be some sort of a wedding gift or something? I like the idea that cjwright79 gave where you just cut her out of your life for a while and just wait for that one day that she'll come around and you guys will get along better.
