He wants 'best friends forever' relationship with me, is he interested in more?

I have always been one of the guys. I have a lot of platonic guy friends because they are easier to get along with and like doing more fun things. But it is difficult for me to recognize when a guy is interested in more. Recently one of my friends said he wanted me to be his best friend and to be around forever because I was the only girl he ever met who challenged him to be a better person. I kept very clear boundaries. Very clear. Even though I told him a thousand times not to, he started to like me, I think love me... I got mad. Now we don't talk.

FAST FORWARD... a guy I was seeing is now telling me the same thing. But its a long distance thing and we things have gotten physical before. I think I made it clear I am interested in being more. I would have never thought he was interested in more if it wasn't for the last guy who said this same thing to me.

Whats with this 'best friends' thing? He is still very flirty with me. Have any of you guys purposely tried to create this type of relationship? and why?

I am the exact same way, Hun, its so hard to ell when a man you really are interested in comes along when you hang out with men, I know.

To me it sounds like it is the beginning of something he might want to progress into more, I think you should continue on giving him compliments, maybe say things relating to him being more than a friend, things you wouldn't say to just any friend, like I never tell my best make friend he is handsome, because I don't see him that way. But you could do it to this guy. You could try subtle physical contact like holding his hand, giving him a massage, etc.

if a girl thinks she's making something clear to a man, he's completely oblivious to what she was trying to make clear haha. at least a lot of the times in my experiences.
