How should I act at my boyfriend's house party?

I've been dating my boyfriend for a couple of months now, and although he's introduced me to his family and a couple of his closest friends, I've yet to meet his wider social group. This weekend he's having a house party, and it will be the first time I'm introduced to them. I know it sounds a stupid question, but how should I act around them? It's really important to me that I "get their approval", so does anyone have advice (what to wear, how much to drink, how much time to spend with him, whether to ask if I can bring a friend with me etc). I don't want to embarrass him!

For context, he's 23 and I'm 18 - the age gap isn't a problem for us, but when I met his best friends I felt really young (I'm still at college whereas they're all working full-time and starting to settle into proper adult life), and I know he gets a bit of stick for dating a teenager. I'm also a lot quieter than he his, a bit of a geek really, and he tells me that he's one of the calmer ones in his group.

Be yourself! Drink if it will make you feel more confident and approachable but make sure you don't have more than you can handle (he's not going to want to have to look after you while hosting the party too). I'm not sure about taking a friend, you don't want to feel like you have to look after them rather than getting to know your boyfriend's friends. And for what to wear, make sure you look hot - it will be a massive ego boost for your boyfriend if his friends tell him they think you're cute.

Be pleasant, engaging and charming. Watch how much alcohol you consume...you don't want to be sloppy on top of it.

In the end, though - you're dating your boyfriend, not his friends.
